Job Description: Full-Stack Developer (C2C Marketplace Platform) Location: Hong Kong (Remote/Hybrid Options Available) Position Type: Contract Role Overview We’re seeking a talented Full-Stack Developer (or a team) to lead the end-to-end development of our C2C platform. You’ll work closely with the founders, designers, and QA engineers to build a scalable, secure, and user-friendly marketplace tailored to Hong Kong’s unique market. Key Responsibilities Platform Architecture: Design and develop a multi-vendor marketplace platform with buyer/seller dashboards, product listings, and transaction workflows. Ensure scalability using cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture. Frontend Development: Build responsive, mobile-first interfaces using React.js or Vue.js. Implement intuitive UX for search, filters, product pages, and checkout flows. Backend Development: Develop RESTful APIs and integrate databases (PostgreSQL/MongoDB). Create seller onboarding systems, payment processing, and order management tools. Payment & Security: Integrate Hong Kong payment gateways (AlipayHK, WeChat Pay, PayMe) and global options (Stripe, PayPal). Implement escrow payment systems and fraud detection mechanisms. Logistics Integration: Partner with local carriers (SF Express, DHL) to enable real-time shipping calculations and tracking. Localization: Ensure bilingual support (English + Traditional Chinese) and compliance with Hong Kong’s PDPO data privacy laws. Testing & Optimization: Conduct A/B testing, performance optimization, and bug fixes. Requirements Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Ruby. Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, WooCommerce) or marketplace plugins (Dokan, Sharetribe). Familiarity with cloud deployment (AWS, Docker) and CI/CD pipelines. Experience: 3+ years in full-stack development, preferably with marketplace or C2C platforms. Portfolio showcasing scalable web applications. Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a startup environment. Fluency in English (Cantonese/Mandarin is a plus). Nice-to-Have Knowledge of AI/ML for personalized recommendations or fraud detection. Experience with Progressive Web Apps (PWA) or mobile app development.
